The area around theTaj Palace has an immensely Colonial feel - in architectural style as well as the names, e.g. Willingdon Common and Connaught Place (the area in which most embassies and government buildings are situated). The hotel itself is magnificent with its marble interiors and crystal chandeliers.
A warm welcome from a fellow African (Zambian to be precise)
We were specifically instructed to dress formally, not traditionally, so as not to shift the focus of the event.
Robin and Sumitra discussing stage setting with the technical assistant.
A successful performance, if a little disconcerting when a minister arrived "fashionably" late and drew all media attention off the stage! But we did get at least some press coverage the following day.
