The visit to this museum was not only an informative exercise, but an emotional experience. Everyone is aware of Gandhi's ties to South Africa, but his history is also pertinent to our music project which explores the similarities in the humanitarian spirits of both Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

The Museum is filled with beautiful works of art, and there are several amazing dioramas of major historical events surrounding Gandhi's life. These were unfortunately not easy to photograph due to reflection from the glass.

A quick train ride!! We all know the connection with Pietermaritzburg station.
An uncannily life-like scultpture of Gandhi and his wife. Zinhle grabs the Kodak moment.
The museum is quite hi-tec. Everything moves and lights up. When touched, these hands light up the whole tapestry above them.
Our charming, patient, knowledgeable guide in the room containing the three wise monkeys
The exact path followed by Gandhi on the morning of his assassination. Quite an eerie feeling following them to the temple across the garden
This marks the spot where he was shot.
