Wills India Fashion Week

 You cannot imagine the excitement when we were told that we were to attend one of India's biggest and most glamorous fashion events on Monday 10 October 2011. The delight was even greater when we arrived to find that were, in fact, the special guests of the famous designer, Charu Parashar, seen here with Thabiso.

 We spent a while in the Buyers' Lounge, being served cold drinks and treated like absolute royalty, 

while we waited for our event to start

Everyone had watched Fashion TV at home at some time or another, but had never imagined that we would actually be sitting alongside the ramp, watching the "real deal". The atmosphere was electric and the designs fabulous.

We then attended a reception with Charu where we were introduced to the dignitaries.The choir performed two songs which were received with much applause and fascination.

The traditional outfits drew much attention; we were pursued by photographers the whole evening giving us a taste of celebrity life.

Here Andreas is chatting to a model from Pretoria on assignment in India for 8 months. She cried so much when we sang that she had to leave the room!

 I promise that all this happened on the same day - I really must get Andreas to set the date on his camera!

We grabbed at the opportunity to be photographed with Charu (first name terms, darling!)

We left the event with tummies and hearts full!
